The Sr Orthopedic Technician supports their respective clinical area as it relates to orthopedic procedures, treatment and care.The essential functions listed are typical examples of work performed by positions in this job classification and are not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks, and responsibilities. Employees may also perform other duties as assigned.Employees must abide by all Joint Commission requirements including, but not limited to, sensitivity to cultural diversity, patient care, patients’ rights and ethical treatment, safety and security of physical environments, emergency management, teamwork, respect for others, participation in ongoing education and training, communication and adherence to safety and quality programs, sustaining compliance with National Patient Safety Goals, and licensure and health screenings.1)Acts as a consultant on orthopedic procedures and policies.2)As necessary, accurately sets up traction and maintains traction beds.3)Carries out all responsibilities in a pleasant, courteous and cooperative manner.4)Conducts all communication (verbal and written) in an effective, accurate, courteous manner.5)Contributes in a positive manner to the unit, department and hospital goals.6)Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, families, staff and members of the community from diverse backgrounds.7)Effectively maintains and manages their respective clinical area and performs required duties on a daily basis. Establishes and facilitates appropriate working relationships between the orthopedic area and work areas of the Hospital (nursing units, ED, OR, Clinic).8)Follows unit and departmental guidelines related to staffing and scheduling.9)Initiates problem-solving techniques on a timely basis.10)Maintains adequate inventory of materials and equipment11)May perform other duties such as rooming patients or administrative work12)Adhering to C-I-CAREStanford Health Care sets a high standard for delivering value and an exceptional experience for our patients and families.
