Ohio Truck Sales is growing and looking for an experienced Production Manager. We are a locally owned, and family operated dealership. We specialize in the purchasing, refurbishing, and selling of used Peterbilt and Kenworth long-hood semi-trucks. It all started in 2009 with one truck and has grown into a 100+ truck operation. As the only dealership of its kind, Ohio Truck Sales has the largest selection of used Peterbilt and Kenworth long-hoods in the country. Our state-of-the-art shop provides a fast-paced and exciting work environment with a lot of room for growth and advancement.

Job Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing Ohio Truck Sales’ production process and production staff to ensure that production runs without any problems and minimal downtime to meet and/or exceed production goals.

Responsibilities

Plan and manage the production processes and production employees to ensure productivity and minimal downtime

Oversee a workforce of 40-50 employees in the production process

Progressively plan and prepare for scheduling demands and consistently meet schedule performance goals

Manage the production employee performance including training, performance management, and coaching

In conjunction with the Production Director, set direction and key metrics for the departments including ambitious production goals

Communicate goals, progress, updates, etc. clearly and consistently

Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all departments

Initiate and ensure completion of corrective action

Maintain 5S

Serve as a resource for continuous improvement projects

Champion OTS’ safety protocols and standards to provide a safe work environment

Provide motivation, support and guidance to employees

Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management

Work with the Human Resources Director to establish policies, procedures, training, and programs to support the production team.

Proactively identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and growth initiatives

Education/Skills Needed

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or a related field.

3-5 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity

Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems

An open door and honest leadership style coupled with self-motivation and strategic thinking skills.

Exceptional relationship-building skills at the group and individual level; able to gain the confidence and trust of others.

Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels within the organization.

Problem solving skills; ability to assess a situation, focus on the issues, and create multiple solutions to resolve the issues.

A confident and secure interpersonal style, which will allow the incumbent to effectively set objectives and secure results, while working effectively in a team-based environment. He/She must be engaging and highly driven with an ‘action’ orientation and a positive, “can-do” personal approach/bias for action.

Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety
