The Company:

Community Services Housing is a 29-year-old social impact organization that develops, owns and operates quality affordable housing for people with special needs in the Charlottesville area.

The Position:

We’re looking for a 20-hour per week Apartment Maintenance Technician who has skills in drywall repair and painting, minor plumbing, and general repair. Knowledge of psychology or social work is a plus. The pay rate is $16 per hour. Some overnight and weekend on-call availability is necessary.

You Have:

· At least some experience in apartment maintenance and a willingness to learn more on the job

· A valid Virginia driver’s license, a good driving record and your own vehicle

· Skills in math, communications (interpersonal and record-keeping), computer, cleaning and repair

You Are:

· Located no more than 30 minutes from downtown Charlottesville.

· Available for some on-call time after-hours and weekends

· Hardworking, compassionate, positive and patient

· Adaptable/flexible and punctual

· Willing to take direction and work both independently and with a supervisor

· Able to lift and move objects up to 75 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times

· Skilled in safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools and mechanical equipment

· Willing to wear a facial covering (mask) at all times and use gloves and disinfectant

Responsibilities:

· Complete repairs, post notices as directed, help to maintain cleanliness of grounds and interiors

· Help to empty, clean and turn over units

· Accurately record progress on work orders using software/apps

· Work in accordance with both CSH and external policies and procedures
