Medical Assistant with Associates or Higher

Medical Assistants who have an Associate degree (or higher) may qualify for the Associate Director position. The Associate Director works under the supervision of the Campus Director with support from the Corporate Director of Education. The main focus of this role is on the academic support necessary in the day-to-day operations of the campus to provide leadership and support to the students and faculty. The AD will create a supportive and team-driven environment which allows students to complete the program of study and achieve educational goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Student Management

Monitors student retention and placement rates for all programs to ensure campus meets established goals and assists staff with improvement plans if necessary

In Collaboration with the Education Support Coordinator is responsible for leading student retention activities that include contacting absent students, identifying and monitoring high-risk students to provide support for successful program completion

Actively participates in new student orientation and assists with student equipment setup

Prepares progress reports, warnings and probations and meets with students to review progress

Verifies Student’s Satisfactory Progress, warnings and student dismissal and meets with students accordingly

Verifies students’ last date of attendance, reviews final progress reports and transcripts

Processes any necessary student drops or dismissals

Signs and dates certificates/diplomas

Provides guidance and assistance as needed

Meets with students as necessary

Faculty Supervision

Serves as Lead Faculty for Medical Assistant and Medical Insurance Billing Office Administrative Programs

Assists Campus Director in identifying and interviewing potential faculty members

Arranges for onboarding of new instructors and faculty training

Conducts a minimum of one faculty in-service per fiscal year

Responsible for monitoring classroom instruction to ensure faculty are following the established curriculum, utilizing available instructional materials and using appropriate instructional methodology and resources

Conduct instructor evaluations and observations and reviews results with the Campus Director, the Director of Education.

Reviews survey and evaluation results with the Campus Director for appropriate action plan and any disciplinary action

Audits grading and attendance

Provides classroom support and instruction as needed

As necessary, assists with providing Ross Education, LLC with suggested updates for curriculum, equipment, and resources to support the programs

Ensures faculty members remain current in licensure, certification and professional development requirements

Facilitates quarterly faculty meetings and attends weekly regional staff meetings

Prepares faculty annual evaluations with assistance from the Campus Director

Monitors program supply orders

Assign and maintain class coverage for all faculty and approve faculty ATO.

Advise faculty on changes, student issues and school policies

Responsible for monitoring and approving faculty payroll, adjustments and petty cash requests for monthly reimbursement

General

Plans and attends Advisory Board meetings , and develops community contacts who can assist with job placement and externship site set-up

Perform Human Resources activities as needed

Schedules and conducts site visits for approval of new student externship sites as needed

Schedules and conducts student externship site phone conferences, Externship Follow-up Evaluations and completes appropriate paperwork

Collaborate with Career Services to ensure all externship requirements are completed

Effectively uses CampusVue to gather data and accurately complete reports

Must complete two in-services and at least one professional development activity each fiscal year

Strong commitment to community involvement

Monitor overall appearance and maintenance of facility

Assists with front office coverage and necessary screenings (campus entry process)

Performs related work as required

Key Metrics

Show consistent improvement in student retention with each program meeting, at a minimum, the ABHES standard of 70% and striving for Ross standard of 80%, while meeting the monthly drop budget

Show consistent improvement (year over year) in faculty retention

Strive for positive survey results of 85% or above on Faculty Evaluations and Student Opinion Surveys

Must have zero tolerance for non-compliant behavior or process and have positive compliance audits related to faculty and student records

Requirements

An Associate’s Degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), preferably in the allied health field or a closely related field, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience in educational methodology such as curriculum development, educational psychology, faculty management, training, staff development and/or classroom teaching experience

3+ years of full-time work experience within the past 7 years, in a health care setting with clinical, or clinical & administrative experience, including a minimum 40 hours of experience in an ambulatory health care setting (where medical care is delivered on an outpatient basis)

License, certification or registration in related field Management responsibilities, including staff supervision, projects, goal achievement, compliance and budget

Demonstrated leadership, communication and coaching skills

Ability to apply basic principles of supervision

Ability to interview and hire effectively

Knowledge of materials (subjects) that will be taught to students and ability to use and communicate Ross curriculum

Ability to achieve or maintain credential and/or licensure within expected time frames

Ability to remain objective and treat all students equally

Must have sufficient ability to move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation.

Must have sufficient visual and auditory ability to operate computer equipment, use telephone, read materials, use white board and use classroom equipment.

Reference and background check required for employment, including credit check

Protection of student and/or employee privacy is expected in the handling of confidential and/or financial information.

Protection of the corporation and privacy of corporate proprietary and confidential information is expected

Professional communication encompasses written, oral, visual and digital communication. Successful communication skills are required for working at Ross and involve the following: writing, reading, editing, speaking, listening, software applications, data entry and reporting, and Internet research.
