We are looking for a Radiation Therapist with Radiation Oncology Department at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center.Location: Mission Viejo, CASchedule: On Call/Per DiemShift: 8 Hour Day ShiftJob Summary:Responsible for delivering accurately the prescribed, planned course of radiation therapy for patients of any age group inclusive of simulation, mold room duties, treatment, quality assurance, dosimetry and nursing assistance as requested by the Radiation Oncologist according to department, hospital and regulatory agency standards. Assesses situations, exercises care, uses discretion and judgment, assumes responsibility for professional decisions, and acts in the best interest of the patient.Skills:

Knowledge of radiation oncology procedures, radiation physics, radiobiology, radiation protection, anatomy and positioning and dosimetry.

Knowledge of JCAHO, Title 17, Code of Federal Regulations, and Title 22 requirements as well as Radiation Safety, Safety, and Hospital and Department Standards.

Ability to safely and accurately operate the radiation therapy equipment, linear accelerators, simulators, and computers, treatment devices, quality assurance tools and other equipment for the delivery of radiation treatments.

Ability to follow directions and is accountable for analyzing and problem solving.

Ability to establish priorities, organize and complete work in a timely manner.

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients and others.

Ability to perform necessary procedures and knowledge of age specific protocols as defined by the skills and competency checklist.
