You will be a leader in space Innovation.Determines methods, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, aligns, troubleshoots, and tests space vehicles requiring the performance of electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical tasks essential to preparation for flight test or launch, where specifications and design details require interpretation. Works from preliminary design drawings, sketches, and oral and written instructions requiring interpretation and application of experience and judgment to determine the most appropriate method to meet laboratory and production requirements.Primary Responsibilities:Works from preliminary and final design drawings, sketches, and oral and written instructions requiring interpretation and application of experience and judgment to determine the most appropriate method to meet laboratory and production requirements.Determines methods and sequence of operations to lay out, assemble, troubleshoot, test and perform manufacturing operations for space vehicle electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, systems, mechanisms, and controls.Fabricates, assembles, installs, aligns and troubleshoots lightweight, fragile spacecraft assemblies, and subsystems.Exercises technical judgment in consultation on the substitution of parts and materials.Assists engineers and research assistants in determining improved procedures and performs specific duties at assigned manufacturing and test stations.Conducts tests using specially designed equipment.May provide assistance to personnel in lower related job classifications.Performs rework of the same nature and level of difficulty as described.Completes training and job related course work for certifications as required.Performs incidental related duties as assigned or required.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.A final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):Experience working with hand and power tools and equipment.Experience working on high structures such as scaffolding, ladders, gantry cranes, and lifts on site and at launch sites.Experience with mechanical assembly of flight spacecraft components including but not limited to: soldering, wire stripping, wire routing, crimping, wire harness assembly, bonding, cleaning, surface preparation, assembly/disassembly, fastener installation, repair and rework of flight hardware, assembly/disassembly of ground support equipment and tooling, drilling, cutting, hand and power tool operation, testing, drawing review, interpretation of build packages and planning documentation,Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):Experience with Microsoft office.Obtain, and maintain certificationsTypical Education & Experience:High School Diploma or GEDRelocation:This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.
