DescriptionRobert Half Finance is reviewing candidates for an ambitious Controller opening, who is seeking to contribute their skill to a prominent Manufacturing company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. Based in the north end - near Mt Vernon, Washington area, this opening for a Controller is a full-time position.How you will make an impact
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as financial modeling and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Manufacturing or construction experience required

Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
CPA or MBA preferred
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
Experience with Cash Flow Forecasts
Balance Sheet Reviews experience preferred
Well-founded grasp of financial reporting
Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations
Proven knowledge of general ledger
Financial auditing experience
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
