We are looking to grow our team for our cutting-edge environmental technology business through adding experienced industrial machine Operators as part of our operations teams. We have established a new manufacturing development center in Statesboro for the purpose of developing both machinery and products for a patented process that converts various forms of waste materials into higher-value specialty chemicals. This business has been endorsed by the Bulloch County Economic Development Authority and is partnering with Georgia Southern University. We are looking for Industrial Machine Operators with previous experience operating similar machines to join our Operations team. This is an immediate need. Qualified applicants would be trained and mentored in Operating our machine with an expectation that they could eventually lead an operations team during a shift.

All employees must be legally eligible to work in the US and will be required to pass drug screening. Due to the nature of the work and in order to promote safe and healthy work habits, the work environment will be a non-smoking workplace.

SUMMARY:

The Experienced Industrial Machine Operator is responsible for the hands-on operation of our Industrial Machine as part of a team. After training in the process and operation of the machine, their duties include, but are not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum and hydraulic tasks during machine operation; materials handling (loading, unloading, transporting) and monitoring of oven, vacuum, water, materials conditions using computerized controls as a part of an operational team. Operational teams work 12-hour shifts covering both day and night. This person is also expected to eventually lead an operational team without supervision and also lead this team in routine and preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment and custodial duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Learn about and understand the function of the industrial machine as a whole and the function and association of all the sections and parts including instrumentation, controls and electrical.

Learn all aspects of the evaluation, disassembly, renovation, repair and reassembly of industrial mechanical equipment while being sensitive to the location and function of instrumentation equipment and electrical wiring.

Attend staff meetings to obtain and disseminate information and participate in discussions on appropriate resolutions to problems.

Participate in and comply with OSHA and other local/state/federal regulatory agency safety training and compliance. Comply with Company/agency policy/ regulations, and maintain clean and safe work environment. Wear all required personal protection equipment during the performance of job duties.

Learn about and capably operate the PLC/HMI computer system which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.

Performs outside custodial duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES required:

Skill in the correct selection and safe use of various applicable hand and power tools.

Skill in the operation of industrial machinery involving solid materials handling (feed, processing, packaging); heated processes (ovens, burners, heat-exchangers); liquid processes (oil water separators, pumps, valves, chillers); pneumatic systems (compressors, dryers, valves); and related electrical systems.

Ability to:

o Communicate orally with team members, co-workers, employees, contractors and vendors to understand the machine, its parts and operational and maintenance issues.

o Work well with others of diverse backgrounds, education and experiences.

o Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and temperature extremes, indoors or outdoors to complete work assignments

o Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools, and equipment.

o Follow orders and complete work assignments with a minimum of supervision.

o Distinguish frequencies, sounds, colors and odors in the operation of equipment in order to troubleshoot for repairs.

o Assist other trade personnel in their work.

o Learn quickly and retain knowledge in order to acquire additional skills and maintain technical competencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

5-10 year experience in the operation and maintenance of industrial machines including PLC and HMI computer operation

Knowledge of 480-volt electrical industrial applications

Knowledge of shop mechanics, safety, hydraulics, and welding

High school diploma or GED

Current valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Maintain all certifications required by OSHA, and Company safety programs.

Welding and fork lift operation experience and certification beneficial
