Tuttle Road UMC is seeking to fill the immediate position of Choir Director. This is a part time role of about 5-10 hours per week. The rate will be determined by experience and what the candidate can bring to this position. The Choir Director will be a person of deep faith in Jesus Christ and will perceive this position as a ministry integrated within the larger ministry of our church. This individual will work closely with the Pastor, Piano/Organist and Worship Planning Team.
The current position we are seeking to fill will be different than the post COVID-19 position.
Ability to lead a virtual choir or in person bell choir, eventually this would be in person practice and Sunday service weekly Sept-June.
Preform or provide soloist music for digital worship (piano, guitar, other).
Work with Pastor to plan music selections for worship service.
Be present for special services, Christmas season, Easter week or other events that may arise.
Lead choir and community participants in Cantata or Choir Festival.
Recruit choir members.
Upkeep of the music library/cataloging and ordering choir music.
Assist with summer music selections when choir is not present during worship.
Participate in educational seminars and workshops.
Present annual music budget.
