Tax Preparer/Bookkeeper (Austin)

In search of a contract tax preparer and bookkeeper to work remotely for a firm in San Antonio/Austin. The ideal candidate is capable of working on their own completing tasks in a timely manner, and must be able to manage their own time and must be able to jump on tasks quickly especially during tax season. We do not train - if you do not think the tasks below are within your capability, please do not apply. We handle 800+ client accounts per year - candidate must be comfortable in a high volume/fast moving environment. This position involves:

Bookkeeping for clients using QBO/QB Desktop. Must be able to perform all regular bookkeeping tasks proficiently such as bank reconciliation, loan reconciliation, journal entries to record property sales. Experience with real estate accounting is a plus.

Tax preparation for 1040, 1120, 1065 clients - must be able to take client docs and input accurately into Ultra Tax CS returns for CPA review.

Texas Franchise Tax - must be familiar with combined, long, and no tax due reports for the state of TX

You must be computer proficient. We use a variety of software, remote desktops, login systems. If you are not computer literate, this position is not for you.

Requirements:

3 years experience preparing 1040, 1120, 1065 using Ultra Tax CS

5 years experience working for a Public Accounting firm

5 years experience with Quickbooks and Quickbooks Online

Must be proficient in excel

High speed internet required

Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred

EA preferred

CPA preferred
