The Role

We are looking for a Content Strategist to join our team here in Detroit. This person will help to build and grow the Content Strategy offering at the agency, as well as develop compelling messaging and content across for a large client.

You will be essential to the continued success of our creative work, which is fully integrated across experiential, social, digital and traditional.

The Team

The McCann Strategy department is a collective of 9 brave, nimble and smart individuals whose experience is as varied as their strategic approach.

Our goal is to create work that allows brands to play a meaningful role in consumers’ lives.

What you will do

Support the Content Strategy Director on the delivery of content marketing programs and content marketing strategies

Work with brand strategists to define and implement content strategies

Manage keywords and topical assignments to writers and creatives

Work with Content Strategy Director to ensure creatives are properly briefed on the content standards for our brands / clients

Provide clients with ongoing reporting, strategic recommendations and advice

Ensure delivery of monthly program goals, and measure effectiveness of campaigns across channels

Help plan, write and edit content to ensure it’s clear, compelling and consistently on strategy / adhering to the brand expression / tone / voice.

Collaborate with Creative to help shape narratives / experiences that inspire and influence target audiences.

Work internally, across departments, to expand our content footprint

Who you will be

4+ years experience

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area required

Experience building audiences and working on successful campaigns and content initiatives

Experience publishing digital content

Proactive, curious, self-motivated

Has a background in journalism and a fundamental understanding of how to tell compelling stories

Has the aptitude and instincts for UX
