OverviewMercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region. Mercy Medical Center Redding is an award-winning 267-bed regional medical center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as specialized cardiovascular care, stroke care, orthopedics, neurological surgery, comprehensive cancer care, maternity care, and da Vinci robotic surgery. Visitto learn more.ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:The incumbent is responsible for answering and routing calls, paging doctors or personnel as directed, maintaining daily logs of personnel on call, paging all emergency codes, and monitoring the gas alarm system. The incumbent will assist in other areas of the department as needed.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Previous switchboard and hospital registration experience required

Knowledge of hospital organization, physical layout, and basic function of all hospital departments required

Ability to converse effectively and to understand orders given under emergency conditions required

Preferred Qualifications:

Course completion in medical terminology preferred

Familiarization with various office and communications equipment preferred (includes copy and fax machines, typewriters and radios)
