Responsible for executing and implementing sustainability initiatives such as stakeholder engagement and reporting in support of Anthem’s Board of Directors governed Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program. In partnership with Anthem Procurement, implement a value chain ESG monitoring and engagement strategy for Anthem suppliers with a focus on materiality.

Respond to key ESG surveys, inquiries and ratings agencies (SAM, Sustainalytics, MSCI, JUST, ISS, FTSE) and perform ongoing due diligence and regular monitoring of Anthem’s ESG scores.

Drive Anthem’s wellness in the built environment program to include managing Fitwel certifications, supporting the onsite food services program, and collaborating with Anthem’s HR Wellness team on other initiatives.

In partnership with the Anthem Foundation, Associate Resource Groups and other business functions, develop and implement an Anthem associate engagement strategy that focuses on sustainability and aligns with broader culture initiatives.

Research the latest trends in ESG and provide evaluations and analysis on relevant policy or market changes to Anthem Sustainability, Governance, and investor Relations leadership.

Qualifications Qualifications

Requires a BA/BS degree related to sustainability, environmental science, business or finance; 5+ years’ experience in sustainability, ESG, and/or corporate responsibility.

MBA preferred.

LEED AP, WELL AP, and/or Fitwel Ambassador preferred.

Experience with ESG reporting highly preferred

Experience with responsible supply chain programs is a plus.
