Pancake Mill Day Shift Grill Line Cook (North Bend/Coos Bay)

The Pancake Mill Restaurant has served breakfast and lunch from 6am to 3pm daily since 1981. We are closed Christmas and Thanksgiving. We pay overtime on 4 other holidays.

Experience is needed for this position. Beginning wage is $15.00 for an applicant with a minimum of one year experience in grill line operations.

The new hire will receive training and will become proficient in all aspects of our kitchen operation to include: Grill Line Cooking, Preparation Cooking, Baking, Dish room Operations, Opening and Closing processes and limited equipment maintenance.

This is a Day Shift position which may be from 4:30 am to 4:30 pm. Occasional shifts may extend to 7:30 pm but would not be the norm. Rarely will the position require more than 40 hours per week. This position requires weekend work and your evenings are free.

We work in an organized, well thought out grill line. No Deep Fryer or Broiler. 13 feet of flat grill, 4 ovens, 4 open burners and 4 waffle irons. Refrigerated Makeup tables hold cold foods providing quick and easy access for all of your needs. There are 3 Grill line staff positions, including Pancake and Egg Grill stations (includes waffles station), and Hot Grill Station; Hash Brown and Meats Grill station (includes grilled sandwiches). Also we have a Prep Cook Station (which restocks grill line as needed).

Staff is rotated from station to station, keeping skills fresh and interest high. A printed break schedule is created daily, 2-10 minute breaks and 1/2 hour lunch. The new trainee will work in an organized training program beginning in the center grill station supporting a trained cook for about 1 month or less. At that point he or she will begin taking tickets.

As in all kitchen roles, calm and thoughtful interaction between staff is required. Harassment or intimidation is not tolerated.

Advanced Education in the Hospitality Industry will be considered favorable in the selection of this applicant and will effect the starting wage.
