MATERIAL PLANNER - RAPTOR SUPPLY CHAIN
Material Planning lies at the heart of SpaceX where our world-class rockets and spacecraft are built at an unprecedented rate.
This is a high-profile, cross functional position that plays an integral role in enabling production flow and directly supporting the Raptor development program.
Material Planners are an important asset to the team, responsible for ensuring all purchased and fabricated materials are ready for integration into spacecraft that will eventually get us to Mars!
The material planner for combustion devices will gain exposure to a wide array of internal manufacturing processes and external supply chains in a dynamic and exciting NPI environment!
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Coordinate with engineering and advise on a supply chain strategy to support development and production of all raptor combustion devices
Work with engineers to identify part requirements, build out system level BOM’s, and ensure proper signaling to production and supply chain teams
Develop an accurate material plan, both internal to SpaceX and with our suppliers
Work closely with Engineers, Buyers, Production, and rest of Supply Chain team to ensure we mitigate and resolve part shortages to quickly accelerate production rate
Maintain fulfillment dashboards and shortage reports
Develop tools and infrastructure to support the Raptor program as it ramps up to production levels
Influence the engineering team to allow for smooth design changes downstream
Help to implement supply chain leading practices
Inspire people; continuously innovate; deliver on goals
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain or similar technical discipline
2+ years of experience in product management, operations management, material demand planning, supply chain management, material cost control, or master production scheduling
1+ years of experience with MRP and ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
Experience implementing process improvements within planning procedures and / or systems
Experience with SQL databases and queries
Advanced skills in MS Excel, able to create pivot tables or macros, and analyze data
Ability to work in a fast paced, cross functional environment, both independently and with a team
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across disciplines and multiple levels of management
Exceptional written, verbal and presentation communication skills
Demonstrated efficiency in time management, interpersonal communication, and organization
Experience navigating complex Bill of Materials and Work Orders
