Contract Editor for Popular Automotive Series (Bellevue)

MediaSpigot LLC is looking to hire a contract video editor to work out of our Bellevue studio for a 3-month term, with opportunity for extension.

Primary responsibility will be editing our popular YouTube series, Driving Sports TV, which features automotive reviews and adventures. We also have a roster of other YouTube clients we produce for, in addition to some corporate video work. Most of this is in the automotive industry. Therefore, a basic understanding of automobile terms and technologies is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Weekly edit of Driving Sports TV for YouTube. This is a 12-24 minute show featuring multiple cameras. (We use a Ursa Mini Pro G2 as our A-Cam, shooting in BRAW)

- Re-cut episodes of Driving Sports TV for broadcast use.

- Assist with related weekly production requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

- Strong references

- Solid understanding of the production process

- Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve for video editing and basic color correction

- Understanding of delivery video codecs and formats for broadcast, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram (and whatever is next).

An ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of the editorial production process with the ability to produce content quickly and accurately. We’d like the candidate to be able to handle a mirrorless camera or professional cinema camera when necessary, though this is a secondary requirement to the position.

Our company does a lot of work around the United States which opens up the opportunity for travel if the candidate has applicable skills or experience. We travel to film our own show, as well as provide field production to our corporate clients. We film at race tracks, on mountains and the desert, in snow, rain and 110-degree sun. An appreciation of diverse environments would be a good thing. We've done work for shows on Motor Trend TV, AMMO NYC, AutoBlog, Lifetime TV, ESPN and others.

Due to workflow requirements, remote work-from-home is not an option. We will provide a dedicated work space and editing Mac for the position, to reduce risk of COVID exposure. Plenty of free parking. Pay is DOE. Hours per week are negotiable, with a minimum weekly commitment of 20 hours.
