Lactation and Maternity Education Supervisor

This position serves as the Santa Monica Outpatient Fetal Diagnositic Unit, Health System Lactation Consultation Service, and Health System Maternity Education program manager.

This role supervises performance of the advance practice nurses’, Internationl Board of Certified Lactation Consultants’ (IBCLC), and support staff’s patient practice for the perinatal patient population.

This position oversees standard of practice and directs the daily operation of services provided by the outpatient Fetal Diagnostic Unit, Lactation Consultation inpatient, outpatient services, Perinatal Education programs, and outpatient maternity support groups for both Ronald Reagan and Santa Monica medical centers.

The role also oversees the development of all education programs and curriculum development in support of the perinatal patient throughout the pregnancy episode (outpatient and inpatient).

This position is responsible for evaluation of fetal diagnostic unit outcomes, lactation consultation service, outpatient education programs, instructor competency and marketing of childbirth services.

Job Qualifications Qualifications

Certified with State of CA International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), required

Bachelors and Masters Degree required, one of which must be in Nursing

2 years acute care in perinatal (antepartum and acute care) experience, required

California RN license, required

California NP license, preferred

2 years of acute care or management experience, required

RN or NP experience with high risk pregnancies, highly desired
