Our company is seeking an Electrical Distribution Designer with previous utility experience and preferably with a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
We are the leading, non-regulated provider of retail electric distribution services in the country. We serve local governments and municipal agencies.
Duties & Responsibilities :
Design and plan-check electrical distribution systems.
Work with the city, developers, consultants, and engineers to establish electrical service for new customers and connect them to the City of Moreno utility system.
Provide design, engineering, and technical support to other regions in the country.
Design the AC systems for utility scale solar facilities.
Plan line routing and detailed design and pricing of substructure and cabling for installation.
Manage for protective device coordination, calculation of fault current, electrical losses, and evaluation of customer load requirements.
Provide technical support to the operations and construction organization.
Provide technical support for other projects, as needed.
Qualifications :
5+ years of experience in utility system design.
Bachelor€™s degree in Electrical Engineering (Graduate degree, preferred).
Professional Registered Engineer-Electrical.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Previous operating electrical utility experience, preferred.
Experience with EasyPower or similar power simulation applications, preferred.
Experience working with telecommunication utility companies, preferred.
Experience with telecom high voltage protection systems, fiber link systems, and fiberoptic facilities, preferred.
