Clinical Nurse III, Surgery

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Fort Sanders Regional’s extensive surgical capabilities are transforming the surgery experience for patients in East Tennessee.

From the area’s first robotically-assisted surgery system, image-guided brain and spinal cord procedures, to our hybrid operating room, Fort Sanders Regional provides patients more options and the best surgical technology available.

We also offer traditional surgical options including advanced laparoscopy and day surgery procedures.

The Surgery department at Fort Sanders Regional consists of 17 operating rooms where over 10,000 procedures are performed each year.

Our surgical specialties include bariatrics, cardiothoracic, colon / rectal, orthopedics, plastics, vascular, sinus, neuro, and surgical oncology.

As an RN in surgery, you will perform a variety of tasks including preparing the operating room for the patient, setting up the tools and making sure the field is sterile.

Attention to detail is a must have skill for the role of surgery RN. In addition to having excellent critical thinking skills, our ideal candidate will also possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Our staff consists of RNs, Certified Surgical Technologists, and Peri-Op / Anesthesia Techs who work together at all times to provide exceptional patient outcomes.

Nurses in surgery work very closely with physicians to ensure our patients are safe. We have a supportive environment and an orientation tailored to your needs.

Position Summary : Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Minimum Education : None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and / or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience : Minimum of three (3) years professional experience.

Licensure Requirement : Must have and maintain Tennessee State RN license. CPR required.
