Chief Estimator Utility Construction (Frederick)

As the Estimator you will:

Review plans and specifications to prepare detailed estimates

Prepare construction budgets and timelines

Research competitive pricing with suppliers and negotiate terms

Research and acquire sub-contractors through competitive quotes, negotiate terms

Develop project estimates with consideration for erosion control, clearing, excavation, water-sewer storm

drains, storm water management, curb and site concrete, stone base and asphalt paving

Generate spreadsheets detailing bids and estimates

Compile bid packages and proposals

Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships and business partnerships

Maintain and adjust estimations to assist Project Management team members

Assist the change order process as needed

Support clients in reviewing and sharing project goals, changes and progresses

The ideal candidate will have:

HS Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in construction estimating or related field is a plus

5+ years’ experience in construction estimating

Proficiency in MS Office and ability to assimilate proprietary software platforms

Ability to use a digitizer for bids and estimates

Agtek Estimating software proficiency strongly preferred but not required

Experience with commercial and residential projects, means and methods

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Critical thinking skills, able to problem solve and make effective decisions quickly

Interpersonal skills, ability to communicate professionally and with persuasion in negotiations

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

Initiative and a desire to grow with the company
