Foster Home Parents (Trevose)

Engage your passion for service, help young people change their lives, and get ahead financially!

Foster Home Parents live expense-free in our beautiful homes in lovely residential neighborhoods in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, supporting youth in need, aged 12-18. One parent earns a full-time salary while the other may hold a full-time job or attend school outside of the home while earning a part-time salary via CSF. With the benefit of paid/reduced living expenses, benefits and regular time off, Foster Home Parents find that they are able to save money while helping youth to change their lives. Our Foster Home Parents receive ongoing support and training and build strong relationships with our counseling and teaching staff. Extensive, ongoing training and support to develop your skills in working with youth are provided.

Foster Home Parents of at-risk teens in the Community Service Foundation (CSF) Foster Care program provide care and supervision to a maximum of 6 boys or girls, aged 12 to 18, who are court ordered into the care of CSF due to behavior or family problems. Youth who are in Foster Care may attend CSF-Buxmont Academy schools from 8am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday, year round. Foster Homes are required to have 2 Foster Home Parents to live in the home.

Foster Home Parents enjoy a network of support. You will be part of a team, including counseling and school staff, that utilizes a holistic Restorative Practices philosophy. Using talking circles and other informal techniques, Restorative Practices engage youth to help them make positive changes they need to succeed. This approach allows us to build rapport among teens and staff and address wrongdoing, when it occurs, as an opportunity for learning and growth.

Many Foster Home Parents have a background or interest in counseling, education, social work, juvenile probation, teaching and faith communities. There is no degree requirement, but you must be at least 21 and possess a clear FBI check, criminal check, child abuse clearance and a current driver’s license.
