Accounting Clerk

DescriptionAccountemps is searching for an Accounting Clerk, whose duties will be matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a short-term temporary-to-full-time employment based in the Bakersfield, California area. Upload financial information to journals and ledgers

Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

Settle discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

Assist Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of an array of sources

Assist Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

Requirements

AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)

Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)

Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

Basic Bookkeeping experience preferred

Purchase Orders experience

Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment

Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is a plus

Excellent data entry skills

1+ years of relevant experience
