Assembler Electronic ASummary: Assembles, modifies, reworks, and repairs the full range of Raytheon SAS developmental and non-developmental mechanical and electronic assemblies from formal, released planning and work instructions.Performs complex mechanical and electrical assembly using schematics , engineering drawings, sketches and uncontrolled work instructions.Requires minimal supervision on a daily basis to perform and complete assigned work and tasks.Requited Skills:3 years minimum experience in field.Duties and Responsibilities:Works from formal, controlled, written work instructions from both physical paper documentation and electronic “paperless” computer documentation or works from schematic, engineering drawings, sketches, and uncontrolled work instructions.Demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks from verbal instructions and engineering recommendations in support of non-deliverable product development.Under the guidance of supervision or engineering, demonstrates the ability to perform initial unit diagnostic evaluation and troubleshooting to determine required rework of tested items.Performs low level testing/evaluation using in-circuit testers, card conditioning chambers, FACT equipment, continuity lights or other go/no-go devices and DVM’s.Assembles electronic and mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, printed wiring boards, standard/non-standard modules, and unit assemblies.Performs soldering, wire preparation, crimping, torqueing, and touch-up conformal coating operations.Inspects own work through the assembly process for compliance with acceptance procedures.Positions and connects parts, wires, and cables within the process of electronic and mechanical tasks to ensure that they are reasonably accessible for removal and replacement and are mechanically connected and soldered according to prescribes standards.Possesses skills and ability to perform component preparation takes utilizing standard and non-standard component prep tooling to enable component lead forms to meet prescribed standers.Performs alternate wiring assembly installation using isopads and jumper wires per written work instructions to prescribed standards.Determines proper terminal connections for components and parts and installs components for proper orientation and polarity.Possesses skills and ability to utilize computer equipment to generate and maintain data spreadsheets.Recommends to supervision or cognizant engineer changes in position of components or parts to allow for service loops, wire and cable paths: Recommends other changes for ease of assembly or disassembly.Assembles, installs, route and bonds wire harness and standard coax cable assemblies.Ability to build and rework RF cable assemblies.Uses and operates ovens, hotplates, basic measuring devices, hand and power tools and equipment such as screwdrivers, torque tools, wire strippers, and crimping tools as necessary.Records attendance and labor input data utilizing computerized equipment for input and retrieval of information.Demonstrates the ability to perform unique testing operations, such as X-ray and ION tests.Demonstrates the ability to assemble and repair fiber optic cables.Meets necessary certification and training required by assigned SAS work center policy.Hold and maintain active J-STD-001 solder certification.Performs incidental related duties as assigned or required.Desired Skills:Familiar with space build and testRequired Education (including Major):High School graduate or GED equivalent.This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.167136Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
