Job Title: Construction Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent

Locations: Herndon, VA or Fairfax, VA

Position Summary:

The Construction Superintendent will assist the Lead Superintendent and Project Manager on large-scale multifamily construction projects (300+ units, budgets $50-$100 MM in scope). The Superintendent will work to maintain the project within the budget guidelines, exceed profit goals, provide field administration and supervision of 100+ workers, and manage subcontractor relationships. This is a long-term, permanent employment opportunity in our Northeastern division. Projects are located in Herndon, VA & Fairfax, VA (Our regional office is located in Burlington, MA).

Responsibilities Of The Construction Superintendent:

Oversee all aspects of construction project from planning to implementation

Supervise 100+ onsite personnel and subcontractors

Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients

Communicate directly with subcontractors as well as field staff to follow plans and specifications

Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to the original plans and specifications

Responsible for maintaining and managing a clean, organized, and safe workplace

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a construction superintendent or construction manager

Experience with multifamily construction (minimum 150 units)

Experience with ground up construction of multifamily housing or hotels

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite programs

Proven leadership capability

Must be able to withstand environmental conditions (extreme cold or warm weather)

Strong verbal communication skills

OSHA certification a plus, but not required

Bachelors degree preferred
