Summary

The purpose of this position is to manage the Company’s further processing facility to optimize profits, maintain consistent product quality and meet / exceed customer needs.

Additionally responsible for directing the management teams to select, develop, and motivate personnel as well as assuring quality staffing at all levels of management while adhering to safety and ergonomic goals and objectives.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develops and executes business plans for areas of accountability.

Develops a strong, progressive management team to ensure growth of the business unit.

Provides guidance to the management team in developing solutions and budgets for improving processes, maintaining facilities, and innovative problem solving.

Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; and enforcing ethical business practices.

Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and promote a community image of the Company as the preferred place to work.

Increases management’s effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining managers;

communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results;

developing incentives; cultivating a climate for offering information and opinions and providing educational opportunities.

Ensures that product quality, service, and reliability meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations. Accomplishes subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements;

allocating resources; reviewing progress; and making mid-course corrections. PPMC branded products are the priority focus of growth.

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree or equivalent related work experience in Business or Ag-Business or related discipline.

Experience Requirements

15 years related work experience. Requires knowledge of budget development and administration, report analysis, USDA and employment law.

Must have a broad integrated knowledge of plant operations, sales, quality assurance, finance and human resources. Must be able to travel to remote facilities and / or offices for meetings.

Experience Preferred

Further processing knowledge of pork, beef and poultry and a strong mechanical aptitude a plus.
