Become a Treasury Operations Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will work with the Cash Management Team in the Treasurer’s Department on rotating responsibilities as needed.

The Senior Specialist will work on the wire team executing and maintaining robust processes to support Edison’s liquidity requirements.

Processes involve accounting, analysis, finance, banking, SAP technology, and unclaimed property. You will interact with numerous internal partners (tax, accounting, payroll, accounts payable, remittance processing, and other areas of the company).

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

Schedule and transmit electronic fund transfers. Reconcile daily SAP recorded cash balances to bank balances. Categorize previous day cash flows and record them in the company’s integrated financial model.

Research, analyze, and identify discrepancies.

Act with urgency to troubleshoot and solve ad-hoc banking issues to ensure continuous Cash Management operations.

Oversee more than 70 SCE and EIX bank accounts. Work with SCE and EIX banks to maintain bank accounts including opening, closing, adding services, KYC updates and changes to signature cards.

Ensure appropriate fraud controls are in place for every SCE and EIX bank account. Perform ongoing bank fee analysis and provide recommendations for cost savings on banking products and services.

Manage system administration responsibilities, documentation, and procedures for online bank portals. Provide bank portal support and user setup to Cash Management and other departments.

Conduct training for internal clients to access and utilize bank portals.

Assist with external and internal audit requests.

Post and clear daily and monthly cash accounting entries.

Assist other departments with transaction documentation and inquiries.

Provide timely expertise in locating errors and documenting discrepancies.

Support the annual escheatment filings. Troubleshoot inconsistencies, facilitate process improvements (in Treasurer’s and other departments), cleanse data, and work with the states to return property to the intended property owners.

Provide functional direction to employees in other departments for this process. Utilize unclaimed property software to create reporting for 50 states and 4 territories.

Maintain unclaimed property software and work with Information Technology to load the properties that are due for escheatment.

Create associated unclaimed property accounting in SAP G / L and vendor accounts.

Develop and implement the Cash Management process efficiencies. Manage projects in support of functional initiatives. Make real-time decisions to resolve process breakdowns, ensuring successful financial transactions totaling millions of dollars each day.

Act as a subject matter expert or a consultant to management on banking, wire processing, and cash reporting.

Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls.

The Essentials

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Five or more years’ experience working in or with banking, cash management, or treasury with project lead experience.

The Preferred

Five or more years of experience in an analytical position.

Ability to manipulate and analyze large volumes of data using Excel and Access.

Certified Treasury Professional.

Knowledge of unclaimed property reporting practices.

Experience with SAP functions relating to the general ledger, vendor accounting, and check register.

Knowledge of banking and accounting practices

Ability to adjust work priorities and coordinate work with others during urgent situations and tight deadlines.

Experience working with proprietary information and maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment, including prioritize multiple duties / projects and follow through on all assignments.

Open to coaching from other team members.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to interface effectively and collaborate with peers, internal clients, external clients (banks) and management.

Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, and leadership skills and the ability to effectively handle stress and engage in continuous learning.

Ability to focus with a high level of detail and precision
