Are you ready for a challenging new leadership opportunity in 2020? Raytheon Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Mission Assurance Lead position at our El Segundo, CA location. This position requires an Active TS/SSBI Clearance with a minimum of 10 years relevant Quality or Engineering experience.Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S), Space Systems Mission Assurance is seeking an experienced professional to implement and manage a Mission Assurance and Quality program and specific customer mission assurance flow down requirements throughout the space program lifecycle. The selected individual compliments engineering disciplines to assure products meet their specified requirements; are consistent, complete, and correct as warranted for the system and operational environment; and satisfy customer and mission needs. The selected individual enables mission success by proactively identifying and addressing areas where the adequacy of program plans, requirements, analyses, risk mitigation plans, certification/verification/validation/qualification approaches and process/product noncompliance have the potential to impact overall mission success. The selected individual will perform with minimal supervision to:Interpret customer technical and Mission Assurance (MA) requirements, and ensure these requirements are integrated and sustained in program plans, specifications and product drawings and assembly plansEnsure producibility, inspectability, and testability are considered during the early development of the systems specification and flowdown to lower-level requirementsEngage and lead in customer Mission Assurance and Quality reviews and technical interchange meetings (TIMs) focused on execution and compliance to the Mission Assurance and Quality Assurance PlansLead or participate as a member in Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and review and resolve systemic failure review and corrective action (FRACA) itemsReview and concur with the Parts, Materials and Processes Control Plan (PMPCP) and Approved Parts, Materials and Processes List (APMPL) to assure each specifies the appropriate PM&P specifications, standards and acceptance criteriaProvide an integrated perspective of the program’s technical risk that considers criticality, system safety, reliability, test and evaluation criteria and adverse trend (RI&S and supplier)Review and approve Engineering program documentation, including program plans, specifications, requirements verification matrices, component and assembly drawings, assembly instructions, test plans, procedures, test reports, instructions and standard operating procedures prior to release for correctness to technical standardsAssure the impact of advisories, such as Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) and customer advisories, are consideredHave direct interface with program management, cross-functional program leadership, suppliers, customers and government representatives.U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires a U.S. Top Secret Clearance with SSBI day one of employment.Domestic travel is required (20%).Required SkillsMinimum 10 years of related experience in Quality or Engineering in development, production, and test of high-reliability space productsWorking knowledge of selected Systems and Space Engineering disciplines (e.g. requirements development, analysis and allocation, System Safety, Reliability, Parts, Materials and Processes, Assembly and Integration, Contamination Control, and Space Environmental Test)Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems IS09001 and AS9100, Configuration and Data Management, and implementation of internal and contractual quality requirementsMust possess a strong knowledge base and ability to perform quality assurance functional activities in support of programmatic, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, test and post-delivery supportA working knowledge of First Article Inspections per AS9102A working knowledge of Special Test Equipment development / procurement / transition to productionAbility to collaborate with program cross-functional team members to develop practical solutions to complex problemsWorking knowledge of Raytheon RCAS or a proven closed-loop corrective action systemExperience as member or chair of Material nonconformance and Failure review boards (MRB/FRB)Experience as member or leader of a program Risk & Opportunity Management Board (ROMB)Strong data extraction and analysis skillsStrong written/verbal presentation skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Desired SkillsExperience working at a prime contractor on a government spacecraft programExperience with Raytheon gating or program phasing (nonrecurring/recurring activities)Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist or Industry Six Sigma CertificationASQ Certified Quality Engineer or ManagerExperience with government and industry mission assurance specs and standards.Required EducationBachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or MathematicsBachelor of Art Degrees in an appropriate field of science (Computer Science, Chemistry or Physics)Bachelor of Art Degree in MathematicsDesired EducationAdvanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or Quality AssuranceFor the Bachelor of Art Degrees listed above, ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard168376Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
