You will support the physicians and nursing staff inthe delivery of health care by performing a variety of medically related tasks.As a member of thepatient care team and the primary point of patient contact, the Senior PatientService Representative is responsible for positive patient relations, propertelephone communication, appointment scheduling, patient registration, as wellas payment and co-payment collection. This position also performs routineduties associated with the collection and maintenance of current patientdemographics and insurance information.The Senior PatientService Representative is able to independently perform these responsibilitiesbased on the standard work for their department with minimal supervision.Job Duties andResponsibilities:

Check-inand out patients and collect co-payments/give receipts/reconcile payments;verifies that patient demographic and insurance information is correct inCS-Link

Scheduleappointments, complete patient registration, collect patient payments andto provide a high level of patient service

Identifiesopportunities for improvement within CS Link and department workflows

Asliaison coordinates administrative support activities including facilitiesmanagement, patient billing, utilization management, quality management,risk management, human resources, and payroll; ability to establish andmaintain relationships with peers, physicians, patients and otherdepartments

Coordinatescommunication between patients, family members, medical staff,administrative staff, insurance plans, and other departments

Managesphysician master schedules and organize all schedule changes asinstructed; handle patient/provider correspondence as instructed

Processand track referrals and authorizations for various insurance types

Managespatient care flow and assist with monitoring CS-Link message pools andstandard work

Explainspolicies, procedures, or services to patients using administrativeknowledge

Activelyparticipates in daily huddles and staff meetings with topics andpresentations to promote positive and effective team work

EducationalRequirements:

HighSchool Diploma and/or GED required

AssociatesDegree/College Diploma preferred

Experience

3years of experience working as a Patient Service Representative in anoutpatient medical office setting required

5years of experience working as a Patient Service Representative in anoutpatient medical office setting preferred

Demonstrateslevel of expertise in medical insurance, referral process and benefitsplans

Preferexperience with CS-Link/Epic Healthcare
