Team Lead III, Warehouse (CLS)DescriptionOverview:Assist in the application of the APL Logistics Continuous Improvement (ACI) Model for operational efficiency to improve business process, increase proficiency and increase efficiency through waste elimination.The Warehouse Team Lead III will lead the assignment of work to warehouse personnel, provide real time and documented training and feedback to associates, champion safety awareness and ensure jobs are completed correctly and efficiently per process and productivity guidelines.Where required, the WTL III will coordinate unloading/loading of inbound/outbound shipments in accordance with procedures, and ensures inventory controls are maintained. Provides warehouse services assigned through safe, efficient, cost effective and accurate handling of customer products.In addition, the WTL III will function in a ‘right hand’ capacity supporting Supervisors, Operations Managers, Office Managers, General Managers, etc. through management of various non-value added yet critical functions within the warehouse and shipping office setting. Reference ‘Statement of Other Duties’ in Section 3 for a detailed listing of additional positional responsibilities.Responsibilities:This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Unloading inbounds, loading outbounds and staging in accordance with procedures or coordinate the same
Insuring Inventory Control and Storage accuracy through cycle counts and physical audits
Providing support to team involving product damage, quality and safety issues
Planning and organizing work schedules and ensure jobs are assigned correctly and efficiently
Providing support to the Shipping & Receiving Clerk and employees on the team
On site leader in covering various ‘shift’ responsibilities as they arise
Supporting job functions of Office Manager, Operations Manager, Supervisor as deemed necessary
Performing housekeeping activities, assembling crates to contain products and/or moving loose materials to containers as directed by a team lead or supervisor
Providing hands-on training through demonstration to associates in all assigned tasks
Key Results:

Drive the application of the 5S Lean methodology to sustain a safe, clean and orderly facility
The position requires the incumbent’s performance to routinely meet standards as set by the company for safety, quality, productivity and customer service
QualificationsQualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 1 year warehouse or related work experience requiredYears forklift/material handling skills required and Equipment Certification required
Minimum 2 years forklift/material handling skills required and Equipment Certification required
Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
Ability to write legibly and have basic math, computer and data entry skills
Ability to make decisions on customer acceptance based on past experience and fitness for use
Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner
Ability to lead others to complete work requirements
Must have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attention
Action Oriented and Results Driven
Solid command of English, both written and verbal; Spanish speaking a plus.
