Job Overview

Responsible for executing the defined strategic quality plan in conjunction with Quality functional leadership. Provides quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, partners and internal functional departments and participates in continuous improvement activities in targeted areas.

Executes the quality assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.

Responsible for developing and implementing the supplier quality and development strategy. Provides leadership and guidance for subordinates in analyzing, measuring, and improving supplier performance.

Works closely with suppliers on training and development.

Job Description

Works with a cross functional team (manufacturing engineering, program management, supply chain, production) as well as customers on continuous improvement.

Applies Quality Engineering tools and methods such as Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, design of experiments, seven basic quality tools, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Gather data on customer complaints and production line issues. Analyzes this data. Recommends and implements improvement.

Write and / or respond to defect reports or non-conforming material reports (NCMRs). Disposition material. Provide instructions for rework or repair.

Work with customers for concurrence when MRB authority is required.

Lead corrective action and complaint investigations. Analyze root cause using 5-Why or similar methodologies.

Perform AS9102 first articles and PPAPs.

Work independently or with manufacturing engineering to generate and execute engineering or document changes. This includes approval of documents and training of personnel.

Work independently or with manufacturing engineering to improve processes. This includes creating process plans, tooling and validations.

Analyze RMAs / customer returns. Specify troubleshoot and rework activities for re-shipment.

Job Qualifications

BS degree-mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, materials, industrial, engineering management or quality engineering.

Minimum of 10 years of semiconductor or electronic contract manufacturing experience.

Six Sigma Black Belt or lean manufacturing certification preferred.

Must have experience with quality engineering tools, statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, customer complaints and containment.

Understanding of problem-solving methods, i.e. 8D and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects

Knowledge and experience in AS9100 and ISO9001.

Knowledge of MIL-PRF-19500, MIL-STD-750, and MIL-STD-883.

Knowledge of gauging and basic understanding of product material properties

Business analysis, leadership and supervision experience / skills strongly desired.
