The Manager, 211 Network Engagement will play a critical role on the 211 team at United Way Worldwide by collaborating closely with and supporting 211 leaders across the network to further the team’s strategic goals.

The manager will be responsible for developing and disseminating all network communications, facilitating knowledge sharing, and creating tools and resources to document and enable 211 innovation and operational excellence. The manager will also streamline and manage an improved process for collecting and leveraging data about the 211 network.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive network communications and information-sharing strategy, including development of tools and other resources for use by 211s.

  • Maintain and regularly update and improve public-facing content about 211, including www.211.org and the 211 Toolkit site.
  • Manage and support development and dissemination of communications and marketing tools, content, and multi-media in collaboration with Marketing and Communications teams.
  • Develop and execute a strategy for regularly obtaining, analyzing, updating, and producing reports related to network-wide operational data (call volume, needs data, operational information, routing tables, etc.) in collaboration with Data Insights team. This includes development and tracking of best practices and metrics associated with contact center operations.
  • In preparation for and during times of disaster and crisis, coordinate and guide development and activation of national 211 assets, including text messaging platform, to support local teams; develop content for resource development and communications teams related to 211 efforts after disasters/crises.

  • Manage special project contracts and grants related to implementing hotlines or administering direct services nationally or in partnership with one or more local 211s.
  • Research and support government relations strategies to promote and advance 211 as a key strategic asset with federal and state agencies, as well as with national and regional non-profit agencies and corporate partners.
  • Develop and share tools that support 211 integration with the Modern United Way framework.
  • Coordinate and support planning of events and meetings hosted by the UWW 211 team.
  • Support and back up other team members as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements include:

  • Strong passion for the work of the United Way and 211 networks and for serving individuals and communities through non-profit services

  • Five to seven years of full-time professional experience (may include internships)
  • One year of professional experience with a 211 agency
  • Ability to quickly learn and master new technologies and skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel and other data tools
  • Experience successfully managing complex cross-functional, time-sensitive projects
  • Demonstrated relationship management expertise, preferably with non-profit organizations
  • Proven ability to work and lead autonomously in a remote work environment with minimal supervision and to excel in an entrepreneurial, self-starting and fast paced environment
  • Experience with health and human services I&R database management a plus
  • Experience using Salesforce a plus
