Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.In this role, you will p erform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. You will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. In addition, you will perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure system security needs are established and maintained under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process for operations development, security controls definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security assessments, systems security hardening, vulnerability testing, security compliance scanning, and provide analytical support for security policy development and analysis
  • Document/support Assessment & Authorization activities necessary for Authorization to Operate (ATO) approvals
  • Develop cyber security inputs to program documentation, security authorization packages, and research & development reports
  • Perform hands-on cyber security implementation, oversight, and support to a team of integration, network, cyber , and test engineers
  • Provide weekly inputs to customer facing Technical Interchange Meetings and other technical meetings
The preferred candidate will have direct work experience in the task items listed above. They must have a broad knowledge of IT systems, the impacts of system hardening on those systems, and experience diagnosing and resolving issues caused by system hardening.   • Bachelor's of Science Degree AND 5 years of relevant experience OR Master's of Science Degree AND 3 years of related experience OR PhD AND 0 years of related experience OR 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance prior to the commencement of employment
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company
  • Must have experience with the Risk Management Framework (NIST SP 800-53)
  • Must have working knowledge of Linux, Windows, network security, web security, application
  • Must have current DoD 8570 Certification IAT Level II or higher (Security+, CISSP, etc.) or ability to obtain one within 6 months
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or other related discipline
  • Active, in-scope (6 years) DoD Secret or higher clearance
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (NIST SP 800-53).

Salary Range: $99,500 USD - $149,300 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
