Job DetailsJob summaryThe Electrical Engineer performs complicated electrical engineering work on capital equipment. The Engineer collaborates with different teams to design equipment, mechanisms, or circuits. In addition, the Engineer solves complex equipment problems and at times needs to resolve the problems at the customer site. The Engineer is part of the review board to ensure that all designs meet all quality and safety requirements.Essential duties and responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes, and conducts product development projects within the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of industrial
equipment.
  • Plans projects involving new concepts/designs for new products.
  • Designs, and documents specifications of complex thermal processing systems, subassemblies, and components.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, designers, sales, marketing, manufacturing, and purchasing personnel to complete machine designs quickly
and cost effectively.
  • Makes complex alterations to drawings/models and Bills of Material (BOM) that may involve the redesign of equipment, mechanisms, or circuits.
  • Study industry standards and ensure that designs are safe and meet applicable industry safety requirements.
  • Review designs with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and marketing personnel as well as equipment users to ensure that designs meet all
requirements.
  • Prepare and present written, oral and visual material to support proposals, presentations, design reviews and written reports.
  • Develop cost estimates for proposed projects which include labor and material costs.
  • Coordinate project tasks and schedules, delegate work to designers / drafters and support staff as required.
  • Interact with customers and support groups, affected by design development, to obtain and communicate pertinent project information.
  • Strictly adhere to all BTU safety policies.
  • May require domestic and international travel according to business needs.
Skills and knowledge
  • Knowledgeable in industry design and global safety standards involving electrical systems.
  • Able to handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and work to a schedule.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency in word, excel powerpoint, and outlook,
Education and experience
  • Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years' experience in machine designing
  • Experience using programming language such as VB, C, C .
  • Experience using CAD design tools
  • Experience using various electrical circuit calculations involving motors, transformers, heaters, and various instrumentation and controls
