It’s in this spirit that we are currently looking to add a credentialed Pricing Actuary to join our Institutional Division.

As an actuary on the PRT Pricing Transactions team within the Institutional division, you will play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success.

This role is responsible for executing the pricing for new Pension Risk Transfer cases.

Location is flexible to include Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE or remote work.

While our team aims to hire at the Assistant Actuary level, candidates who meet most but not all requirements are encouraged to apply.

Actual job title will be based on experience and skillset.

What You’ll Do

Review, prep, and analyze data for each case

Collaborate with Sales to obtain answers to data and plan questions

Prepare bid specifications

Work with actuaries to set case appropriate assumptions

Accurately code assumptions and plan provisions in pricing model

Develop profitability results

Prepare case analysis for Sr. Management

Reporting assumptions and metrics for new business

Factors for Success

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience

ASA with 4+ years of actuarial work experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, VBA coding experience is preferred

Detail oriented with ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Ability to deliver timely, organized and consistent results

Well organized with proven experience in handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Solid experience with Prophet, MoSes, and / or ProVal a plus
