The Launch Systems Division (LSD) helps our customers develop launch vehicles and innovative solutions in support of military, human space flight, and commercial applications by collaborating with organizations such as the United States Space Force, NASA, DARPA, OSL, and FAA. Our team ensures that the emerging launch vehicles meet National Security Space Launch (NSSL) requirements for Non-Recurring Design Validation (NRDV) and recurring verification. We coordinate and maintain support for the evaluation of launch vehicle design, operational capabilities, and mission assurance processes. - Lead and facilitate collaborative efforts between the Space Force and launch vehicle providers to evaluate their launch vehicle designs, qualification, and operational capability
- Coordinate multi-discipline engineering team efforts to ensure that launch vehicle designs, analysis, testing, and documentation are aligned with Space Force requirements
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to resolve or mitigate risk associated with flight hardware
- Communicate status and progress of technical activities, issues, and accomplishments through reports and briefings to Aerospace, Space Force, NRO/Office of Space Launch (OSL) and contractor teams
- Typically, 12+ years of professional growth and related experience including launch or space vehicle hardware
- STEM Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program
- Expertise in either Avionics, Software, or GN&C (strong familiarity with the other two)
- Strong familiarity with launch or space vehicle hardware design, analysis, and testing
- Track record in coordinating or participating in multi-disciplinary technical team efforts
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- An advanced STEM degree
- Hands-on experience working with launch vehicle or spacecraft hardware
- Familiarity with two other subject areas
- Ability in the design, analysis, and testing of launch vehicle or spacecraft hardware
- Proficient in design, analysis, and testing of launch vehicle systems
- Experience with building launch vehicle or spacecraft systems in model-based environments
- Familiar with NSSL processes, specifications, and standards
- Experience using Python or other programming languages for data review and analysis
