The Communications Technologies and Engineering Division (CTED) Team at Aerospace Corporation helps our customers solve the hardest problems in Satellite Communications, Signal Intelligence (SIGINT), and Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT). CTED provides solutions broadly covering architectures, policies, system design, performance, and development of cutting-edge prototypes in our laboratories. The division interacts with all major space customers to address their needs from terrestrial networks, ground stations and wireless systems to spacecraft, with a strong focus on robust and resilient communications. Departmental Summary: The Communication Software Implementation Department (CSID) within CTED performs proof-of-concept studies, implements new algorithms, and builds prototypes for signal processing applications. We are subject matter experts who provide technical advice to our customers on satellite communication systems. We are seeking to hire an Electrical / Software Engineer to support in a hybrid work model which offers partially remote with some onsite work required in El Segundo, California. What You'll Be Doing:
- The chosen candidate will design, build, code, and test software/hardware prototypes for signal processing applications
- D eliver tech demos and briefings to staff and customers
- Pitch ideas for new research and development projects
- Adapt to changing industry trends and explore new concepts outside your comfort zone
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline
- Minimum 1- year of industry experience and/or year pursuing an advanced degree
- Software development experience in one or more of these languages: Python, C/C, Golang, Rust, Swift, and Julia
- U nderstanding of digital signal processing and RF communication fundamentals
- Ability to obtain a security clearance issued by the U.S. government
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline
- Experience in satellite communications, CubeSats, or GPS/GNSS/PNT systems
- Development experience in software-defined radio environment such as GNU Radio
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning techniques
- Currently holding an active U.S. Government Security Clearance
