Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.This requisition may be filled at a higher level based on qualifications listed below. Basic Qualifications for a Systems Administrator:
- High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of relevant experience; Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree and 3 years of relevant experience; Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related degree with 1 year of relevant experience
- Experience with VMWare Virtualization Technology
- Experience with Linux and Windows servers and workstations
- Ability to author technical documentation, such as use cases, software architectures, system design documents, user manuals, etc.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Secret Clearance
- High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of relevant experience; Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree and 6 years of relevant experience; Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related degree with 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience with VMWare Virtualization Technology
- Experience with Linux and Windows servers and workstations
- Ability to author technical documentation, such as use cases, software architectures, system design documents, user manuals, etc.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Secret Clearance
- System administration experience with Linux and Microsoft operating systems
- Ability to perform PC and Server hardware and peripheral maintenance and network equipment configuration

- Possesses active Security Clearance or has ability to get/maintain a clearance

- Trellix/McAfee Endpoint Security
- Nagios logging
- STIG/SCAP compliance, ACAS Tenable.sc
- Datacenter infrastructure management (server, array, rack, cabling, UPS)
- Network storage devices, disk-to-disk backup, tape libraries
- Looking for individuals who have experience with virtualized environments.
- Currently using Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012 (moving to 2019) and Red Hat/Centos7 (moving to version 8).
- Manage complete infrastructure to include switches, cables, servers, desktops, peripheral devices, services such as DNS and AD.
- Current infrastructure is mostly blade servers with storage arrays.
- Scripting automation and hardware support for Windows and Linux desktops, VMs, servers, networking, storage, and backups.
- Ensure the reliability and security of classified data.
- Our Agile team is currently responsible for maintaining 3 programs both classified and unclassified.
- Having someone who is flexible and a team player is very important. We typically work M-F unless we are unable to schedule downtime without impacting the programs (rarely happens). There is no pager requirement for this environment.
