QA Engineer (Remote)
Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a QA Engineer for a CONTRACT (or RIGHT TO HIRE) assignment with one of our premier Higher Education clients in Manchester, NH. This is a 100% remote position. You will join an Integrations Center of Enablement team within Business Technology Solutions and will focus on testing the integration of data between all university systems. Responsibilities :
- Perform negative and performance testing on bridges being built between systems.
- Test RESTful APIs /Postman API
- Work very closely and early with developers throughout the testing process. It's a very collaborative environment with developers.
- Test vs. user story outcomes making sure all conditions are met.
- Support in-house vendor software integration and implementation projects, providing quality assurance services.
- Support the QA needs of the Systems Integration Development team.
- Provide quality assurance services with a focus on validating application integrations while also validating application functionality and data requirements and conversions.
- Elicit, document, and differentiate testing and validation of business requirements, functional requirements, non-functional requirements, use cases and/or features, epics, and user stories/acceptance criteria.
- Develop test plans, test data, test cases and/or test scripts and execute against functional and non-functional requirements, technical designs, data mappings, and/or user stories/acceptance criteria.
- Make test automation recommendations via user stories, tool development, etc.
- Establish traceability from test cases back through business / functional requirements.
- Perform functional testing in pre-production environments and smoke-testing to validate production installations.
- Support User Acceptance Testing.
- Support both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Minimum 3 years of quality assurance experience, including test case planning, preparation, execution and defect tracking and reporting.
- Experience in systems integration testing including solutions that utilize APIs and system integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, etc.).
- Postman is required.
- Performance and Negative testing of APIs
- Experience writing, validating and executing test scripts, and scenarios from user stories.
- Proven experience with Automation tools and processes.
- Experience writing SQL test queries for data setup and test execution and validation.
- Experience identifying and administering required test data.
- Experience in quality assurance operating in both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Must be process and detail-oriented, while also able to grasp the big picture. The ideal candidate would be a creative and innovative person with a demonstrated track record of collaboration.
- Good facility with general MS Office tools and test case and defect management tools.
- Ability to learn quickly, excellent testing, technical, communication, and interpersonal skills are critical.
- A Bachelor's in Information Systems (IS) or a related field is preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Membership and/or active participation in quality assurance communities, chapters, or networks.
- Experience with Elucian Banner or Colleague
- Experience with Salesforce
- Any experience in the Higher Education industry is a big plus
