Production/Technical Support Specialist
job summary:
Description:- Production/Technical support specialist responsible for running the day to day operations of Data Tools & Shared Services Web applications (.Net/Anugular) that are operated and maintained on enterprise Teradata/Hadoop/Oracle/SQLServer platforms on prem and on Azure.
- Work activities specific to Operation Services roles include Problem/Incident Management, Release/Deployment support, Operational Readiness, Change/Configuration Management, Capacity/Availability Management, Application Monitoring, Service Level Agreement (SLA) maintenance, Production Governance, Triage, Audit support etc.
- Serve as technical subject matter expert both from an application functionality as well as production platform perspective Application Triage Support.
- Provide application availability support (example, bringing application to Business-as-Usual by running jobs after a platform Outage)
- Follow communication and escalation routines to prevent and handle SLA breaches - contacting downstream and upstream data source applications for data delays, data quality issues, create and send user bulletins for data provisioning delays / issues.
- Work closely with Development Teams in supporting release deployments, software/server upgrades and also participate in Disaster Recovery and Resiliency testing exercises.
- Provide capacity management support (example, ensure enough space allocation on database/server filesystem and directories).
- Proactive identification and continuous improvement opportunities both from an application ad infrastructure standpoint
- Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
- Collaborate with offshore team members for efficient production support shift handoffs.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps production support and Development role.
- 7+ years' hands-on experience with .NET and ANGULAR.
- Mastery of SQL, Scripting, especially within SQLServer and Shell Scripting.
- strong debugging skills in SQL, Shell scripts and expertise in Data analysis.
- 3 years of experience in CI/CD tools including Bitbucket, Jenkins and Ansible.
- Production Triage /Troubleshooting experience; ability to respond/take action quickly to resolve issues
- Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and manage issues to resolution.
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Requires Azure cloud certification AZ900, DP900, and DP 203
- 1+ years' experience on AZURE/GCP Cloud.
- Knowledge on Teradata and cloud basesd data warehouses - Azure synapse is a plus.
- Data-driven mindset and proficient in quantitative analysis is a plus
- Hadoop (Sqoop, Hive, Map Reduce), Spark (Spark Streaming), Kafka, Java/Scala/Python.
- Evaluate existing and future source data systems for use in data processing, integration, and reporting
- Experience with Splunk.
- Knowledge/Experience on Data Governance tools - Collibra, Datadog.
- Automation tools - Ansible and terraform
