Check out the opportunity below and apply today!Our Columbus, Ohio client has a contract opportunity for a Traffic Operations Specialist who will have the opportunity to become an expert in traffic operations using an advanced software platform to manage and report critical road incidents. Learn valuable software system skills that help save lives and improve transit service.POSITION SUMMARY:
- Aggregates, synthesizes, and analyzes data from existing transportation infrastructure, invehicle data, and other crowd sourced information to provide a shared, cloudbased platform unlocking key realtime and predictive operational insights about your roads.
- Work independently with little daily supervision.

- Follow defined processes and quickly grasp new software solutions.
- Report and demonstrate effectiveness of software to real world situations and end user experiences.
- Computer systems skills with the capability to operate multiple software packages.
- Coordinate with partner agencies and involved stakeholders to develop consistent report formats that will benefit said parties for planning and operations activities.
- Provide clear and concise Quality Control and Assurance (QC/QA) feedback.
- Monitor system resources to quickly detect and identify incident or hazardous conditions.
- Assist client Radio Room with other duties as they arise.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Associate and/or bachelor's degree or higher in related field is a plus.
- 1 Year of experience as TMC operator is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skills in interpersonal relationships and ability to work well within a diverse group.
- Ability to clearly communicate written and verbal information.
- Ability to write reports, and correspondence.
- Attention to detail and ability to articulate information to client representatives and client organization management Capable of multitasking and working in a fastpaced environment.
- Ability to coordinate real time activities and priorities.
- Ability to work alternate work schedules and be oncall as necessary
- Ability to use freeway management and other traffic control computer applications.
- Experience in a public safety, emergency management, transportation dispatch or similar environment, familiarity with Regional DOT Interstates and local roadway.
- Experience in highway/transportation planning, emergency management, system analysis or quantitative analysis of transportation/highway systems or demonstration of equivalent strategic planning operations.
