Apply Now Newark, NJ client has a full time opportunity for an experienced Director IT - Operations & Technology who will own all planning of operational technology and maintain a motivated and productive staff by providing sound leadership and direction, modeling appropriate behavior, rendering timely decisions, and providing coaching, feedback and recognition.You will be responsible for end to end management of mission critical IT/OT solutions in support of the business. The Director has overall responsibility for the performance of all IT initiatives, systems, teams, and personnel related to Grid Operations, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Asset Management.Director Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing utility
- Regulatory Compliance utility experience in some or all of the following: Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), NERC Standards, Transmission and Substation Operations and Engineering, ISO / RTOCompliance, and/or Siting
- Expertise in SCADA, DMS, EMS and Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
- Proven ability to influence and build positive and productive working relationships with all stakeholders to set standards and guidelines related to IT services and operations
- Expert in interpreting and communicating technical information in business language and vice versa
- Ability to manage and work with external vendors, including vendor selection, evaluation, and contracting
- Possesses strong financial acumen and can help shape and optimize around $35-45M budget for the function
- Knowledge of DevOps, product management, and modern IT delivery practices
- Can anticipate change and effectively and efficiently deploy resources
- Able to take innovative approaches to problem solving
- Thinks strategically with a focus on business value; able to develop strategies while incorporating a broad organizational perspective
- Makes decisions at the appropriate time, taking into account the needs of the situation, priorities, constraints and the availability of necessary information
- Identifies inspiring goals and objectives, then motivates and leads others towards them
- Shapes and oversees projects to support electric operations, including management of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system planning, implementation, and operation
- Ensure 24/7 safe and reliable operations of key operational technology (SCADA, Energy Management Systems (EMS), Energy Resource & Trading Technology(ER&T)) and determine key SLAs
- Ensure proper onboarding of new plants/systems/processes in the OT Service structure in coordination with field operations and other support organizations
- Ensure execution of firm enterprise and IT policies, including compliance with NERC CIP and ISO / RTO protocols
- Direct the selection, availability, and use of applications, systems, and tools to manage risk profile and SLAs of OT services
- Create and deliver strategic portfolio for Operational Technology, including 5-year roadmap and annual financial plans
- Manage team performance, coach and mentor team members, and develop a succession plan for the group
