Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Satellite Network Monitor to support launch and mission operations for the Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS) at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, in support of the Missile Defense Agency. As part of leading the operations crew you will provide day-to-day expertise monitoring spacecraft bus health and ground system status; execute spacecraft commanding/ground perform files, procedures, and operations alerts; review, incorporate, and execute ground entry point contacts for flight operations; review pass plans for accuracy; perform schedule change actions as necessary; perform validation checks prior to command execution; ensure successful transmission of commands and receipt of telemetry; assess system state of health and trending of satellite parameters; implement satellite safing procedures, as required; coordinate activities with mission planners and system test team; participate in operations test activities and MDA test events; perform post-pass data archival; troubleshoot satellite and ground system anomalies and recommend recovery actions. This position requires working a rotating shift schedule in support of 24/7 flight operations. Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree and 7+ years of engineering experience OR PhD Degree and 4+ years of engineering experience
- Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances: Dept of Defense Secret level with a background investigation date within 10 years OR Dept of Energy L clearance with a background investigation date within 10 years
- Experience in spacecraft and payload operations planning functions, launch and early-orbit test operations, and satellite command and control on-console operations.
