In this role, the individual will manage the Aerospace ISAM Department within CSG, in addition to supporting engineering activities for various customers and internal Aerospace initiatives.This is a hybrid position located in Chantilly VA, requiring occasional on-site visits to interact with customers at NASA HQ and other locations.What You'll Be Doing
- Act as the Operations Director for the Consortium for Space Mobility and ISAM Capabilities (COSMIC). Along with COSMIC's Executive Director, provide leadership, planning, and direction of the engineering team supporting (COSMIC).
- Provide day-to-day programmatic monitoring, assessment, and oversight of department activities.
- Participate and lead contract tasking, contract management, and potential new business activities
- Build and manage the engineering team, ensuring that both team and customer needs are met
- Participate in budget planning and allocation of resources
- Report organizational activities, progress, and achievements on a monthly basis to management, subordinates, and customers
- Assign and coordinate work activities within the organization
- Monitor workload, work progress, and schedules, ensuring completion of the organization's work assignments within cost and schedule guidelines
- Communicate with customers to coordinate and report work progress, issues, financial status, and results
- Participate in day-to-day technical tasking and issue resolution in your specific area of expertise
- Bachelors degree from an accredited program in Engineering
- 12 or more years of experience in general engineering, system engineering and/or program management
- Strong project management and team management skills
- Experience with technology development, systems engineering, and space architecture definition
- Demonstrated experience in partnership development/customer relations with multiple government customers
- 8+ years working on spaceflight technology development or operational flight programs
- Understanding and experience working with multiple government customers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to develop and clearly communicate complex information
- Independent and self-motivated; proactive ability to learn on the job and serve as the primary interface to the customer
- Ability to work across a geographically distributed team environment
- Ability to identify and communicate concerns to leadership in a diplomatic manner
- This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

- Experience with one or more fundamental technologies associated with ISAM: rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking (RPOD); space robotics, spacecraft autonomy, interface standards, on-orbit assembly, on-orbit manufacturing.
- Experience in organizing cross-disciplinary organizations that include multiple government customers, industry, and academia
