The Ground Systems Security Engineer role will be responsible for leading Aerospace systems security engineering activities across the USNDS and E-FORGE programs. Under the purview of the Space-Sensing Delta within Space Systems Command (SSC/SN), the USNDS and E-FORGE programs are early-milestone next-generation ground systems supporting space-based nuclear detonation detection and missile warning capabilities for the United States. As the Ground Systems Security Engineering lead, you will apply your expertise across major program development activities such as hardware security certification campaigns, Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation, and system architecture and CONOPS development. Working side-by-side with government counterparts and other government support contractor personnel, this position will require close collaboration across SSC and other mission partner organizations to ensure the delivery of critical space enterprise capabilities. Telecommuting is possible 1-2 days per week depending on the needs of the mission and customer. What You'll Be Doing
- Act as the overall technical lead for systems security engineering efforts across the USNDS and E-FORGE programs
- Lead Aerospace's support to the security certification process for program developmental hardware
- Oversee the application of Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls to program baseline elements
- Provide security engineering thought leadership to help inform program acquisition strategy and technical baseline development
- Lead technical teams to conduct reviews of design artifacts and support ground system development and fielding
- Interact regularly with Government customer leaders, SETA contractors, multiple development contractors, and other collaborators across the USNDS and E-FORGE communities to align ground system architecture, development and CONOPS with operational needs
- Provide integrated advice to the government customer staff team and your Aerospace peers
- Generate periodic written reports and presentations to customer and Aerospace management
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or an appropriate technical subject area
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering/scientific industry experience
- Solid understanding of systems security disciplines, including cybersecurity and information assurance and their application to ground systems
- Experience in the acquisition, development and/or operations of software centric systems and a background in systems engineering
- A current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Minimum of 12 years of related engineering/scientific industry experience
- At least 8 years of experience in acquisition planning, analysis, and development of national security space systems
- Proven track record of effectively leading technical teams
- Strong examples of your ability to make connections across multiple organizations
- Advanced STEM degree
- Experience with NSA and/or Functional Security Evaluation Team (FSET) security certification processes
- Track record of optimally and innovatively working in multidisciplinary teams to develop and field ground systems
- Relevant acquisition experience with USNDS, MW/MT and/or Survivable/Endurable ground systems
