Primary Purpose Ahold Delhaize (AD) USA business operations and digital journey relies on infrastructure transformation building the solid foundation for business goals enablement and modern ways of working. The leader of Infrastructure transformation will be responsible for establishing modernization strategy and framework for executing transformation across ADUSA Infrastructure platforms, products, and operationalizing new capabilities. This leader will lead the development and delivery of an infrastructure modernization program consisting of balanced short-term operational improvements and long-term investment strategy. Develop portfolio of investment projects that enables the organization to meet its strategic goals and operational imperatives. Serve as a catalyst for strategic thinking and change throughout the organization, the leader will proactively identify opportunities to improve the foundational infrastructure vision through change initiatives that will deliver measurable business improvements. The leader will ensure that change is delivered successfully and embedded in a sustainable manner complimenting the business capabilities and operating model as efficient and effective as possible, being fit-for-purpose in achieving the US organizations business priorities. This leader must bring full-stack technical depth spanning large scale enterprise networks, datacenter infrastructure, security, hybrid-cloud offerings, end user technology, complimented by strong leadership, strategic thought leadership and collaboration skills. The leader will serve as the critical expert and point of contact across Ahold Delhaize for all things infrastructure transformation and operations. This will be a highly visible role and will work collaboratively with ADUSA's Executive Leadership, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, and Infrastructure tower leads to deliver on transformation and operational objectives. This leader sets the infrastructure transformation goals for ADUSA brands while working closely with our brands, architecture and IT leadership to ensure infrastructure transformation goals meet the needs of the company. This leader will need to anticipate and champion new technologies that improve overall productivity for our associates and aligns the with the business unit goals and has technical and budgetary responsibility/accountability for all transformation and operational domains. This leader will incorporate infrastructure lifecycle planning into the transformation goals looking for leapfrog opportunities to accelerate transformation. Socializing the RBS transformation story and goals with vendors and managed services providers to direct transformation and operational projects/programs, manage/direct senior managers and solution leads, contractors, project managers, and direct 100+ resources across multiple managed services providers. This individual will be a customer centric leader with deep technical infrastructure experience, strong project management acumen, excellent vendor management skills, plus a superior service-first-oriented approach to infrastructure operations. As a member of the senior leadership team, the role will contribute to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy, and ensure it aligns with RBS's IT strategy and delivery capabilities. Duties and Responsibilities • Through creativity, expertise, and collaboration, identify, lead, drive, and manage the transformation program at steady and predictable pace to increase efficiency and performance across the organization.• Provide institutional leadership and articulate a clear and compelling vision for change using evidence-based business cases including resource implications and business value.• Be involved in all strategically identified transformation projects from inception, delivery to closure, supporting across the lifecycle of project.• Develop and effectively manage a 5-year planning budget for capital expenditures and an annual zero-based operational budget.• Train and mentor team (on-site and offshore) to ensure the reliability, availability and security of our infrastructure environment, while promoting individual technical skills growth and career development.• Define infrastructure strategies and develop appropriate roadmaps to ensure our infrastructure is capable of meeting key business and technology objectives.• Participate in the Global Architecture Committee as an infrastructure subject matter expert to represent ADUSA• Build and maintain relationships with IT leaders and business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs, ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs, and responding with agility to changing business priorities.• Work closely with the VP of Infrastructure and Security (CISO) to ensure the security of our infrastructure.• Remain current with emerging technology and its applicability to our business. Ensure operational procedures (runbooks) are properly documented and maintained internally and by managed services providers.• Ensure ongoing performance monitoring of the infrastructure and ensure service level agreements are met. Provide appropriate analytics, executive dashboards, and set measurable KPIs to provide operational scorecards.• Take point on urgent and/or complex issues, ensuring appropriate actions are taken quickly and root cause is determined. Act as an escalation point for the infrastructure service delivery team.• Responsible for providing the portfolio management across all transformation change projects, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and budget to the satisfaction of business stakeholders and our customers. Ensure that project deliverables are of high quality and projects are delivered following due process.• Play a key role in motivating infrastructure teams to transform and realize the value of transformed infrastructure. Introduce infrastructure transformational thinking into US architecture and engineering teams driving motivation to transform and not just refresh the infrastructure.• Work across the organization to identify emerging transformational thinking talent and provide opportunity to engage staff at all levels to contribute to the change agenda.• Proactively seek out and tackle issues that will prevent the delivery of business benefits in transformation projects, facilitating open communication and discussion between stakeholders. Be persistent in problem solving without letting challenges derail the transformation process.• Work closely with IT portfolio management team to ensure the right amount of funding is prioritized for infrastructure transformation.• Focus on breaking the reluctance to change due to the experience of doing things the old way. Develop and nurture strong, positive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure engagement and delivery of transformative change.• Lead the definition, design implementation and execution of a comprehensive infrastructure transformation strategy, integrating elements across diverse functional areas including retail, supply chain, e-commerce, IT and security.• Participate in Enterprise Architecture activities including reviews of technology solution designs, providing input to ensure best practices are being followed and that solutions are scalable, reliable & secure.• Stay abreast of new technologies and service offerings within industry and marketplace.• Craft a compelling narrative as to why the US infrastructure needs to transform and change, inspiring leadership and engineering teams for action. Build trust and socialize the rationale for transformation.• Prepare and deliver executive level proposals regarding Infrastructure-related initiatives.• Contributes to the development of the infrastructure team's technology roadmap and ensures its integration with the overall IT and enterprise strategic plans• Partners with the IT senior leadership team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources and investments in transformation.• Understand the expectations of IT leadership, the retail business, finance and customers. Balance the need for transformation with consistency and stability while building relationships across all departments.• Partner with global and information security teams to support strategic initiatives and security improvements• Improving customer experience is a key driver for transformation. - Bachelor's Degree Required (computer science, engineering, information systems, business administration or other industry related curriculum)
- Master's Degree strongly preferred (computer science, engineering, information systems, business administration or other industry related curriculum)
- 15+ years of working in a large scale, multi-supplier environment, with at least 10 years managing large scale infrastructure and operations and 5 years designing, developing, configuring, and implementing enterprise IT infrastructure with diverse solutions from multiple vendors
- 8+ years in leadership experience including MSP management experience
- 3+ years of experience in managing multi cloud (Azure) delivery and support
- Experience and deep knowledge in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
- Extensive knowledge of transforming, running, and maintaining cloud-based and hybrid services, as well as network, compute, storage, and databases
- Proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in large scale, complex and dynamic environment
- Proven experience in navigating complex organization structure, creative problem solving, and rational experimentation
- Expert knowledge in IT operations, designing secure, scalable and highly available infrastructure and cloud environment
- Strong business acumen, with experience in understanding and shaping technology investments in support of company and IT strategy
- Exposure to business process development, governance processes, management and budgeting. Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills around collaboration, facilitation, and contract negotiation skills
- Prior experience in a similar role in multiple multi-national companies from a global perspective
- Strong experience in dealing with outsourcing and managing MSP's teams and outcomes to deliver on transformation programs
