Please review the job details below.Maxar is seeking a Senior Radar Algorithm Engineer / Scientist to join our team in Ypsilanti, Michigan. This is an opportunity to work on an integrated team to develop innovative algorithms and mathematical solutions to support users in the defense and intelligence communities. Candidates with expertise in radar algorithms, radar system analysis, image formation processing, remote sensing, and/or software development for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) applications are encouraged to apply. Strong communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and engineering teams are desired.What will you be doing?
- Provide radar algorithm leadership and expertise to research and development teams in SAR and related areas
- Develop innovative algorithms and models for SAR image formation processing
- Perform system level analysis and evaluation with respect to radar requirements
- Analyze effects of SAR waveforms, CONOPS, and radar hardware, and provide recommendations for implementation
- Contribute to software for synthetic data generation and testing
- Develop and analyze algorithms for new radar applications, demonstrating advanced capabilities and applications
- Present technical briefings to internal and external stakeholders
- Opportunities in other technical areas include moving target detection algorithms, autofocus, bistatics, deep learning and Automatic Target Recognition (ATR), electronic warfare (EW) and adaptive array processing
- Individuals with interest in any of these or related areas are encouraged to apply
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain & maintain a TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math or related technology fields
- 8 yrs of relevant experience
- Strong programming skills (C, C, MATLAB, Python, or similar)
- Current/active TS/SCI
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math or related technology fields with 5 yrs of relevant experience
- Signal and image processing, operational processing experience, system development, and integration and optimization
