The Aerospace Space Domain Superiority Directorate, in the Special Programs Division, supports a broad array of Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power missions covering the entire threat response chain from the Space Domain Awareness function through the multidomain effects needed for space superiority. These programs include major system acquisitions for multiple ground and space segments, future architecture definition at the data/software/hardware levels, and research and technology for continuous evolution of space warfighting capabilities.The Aerospace Space Domain Superiority Directorate provides technical and programmatic support to a broad array of programs including the Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program (GSSAP) program. The GSSAP satellites are a space-based capability supporting space surveillance operations that allows for more accurate tracking and characterization of human-made orbiting objects.This position has limited opportunity to telecommute.What You'll Be Doing
- Directly supporting a government advanced concepts lead in a diverse organization that provides technical and acquisitions expertise to a program that has operational, production, acquisition, and future capability improvement efforts
- Providing Aerospace-tailored mission assurance for a national security space system
- Guiding capability development, integration, and test across segments
- Identify, direct, and coordinate technical analyses, evaluations, and assessments across space and ground segments, integrated product teams
- Mentoring less expert personnel and serve as role model
- Working directly with government and SETA counterparts within the program office and with contractor personnel
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical subject area
- Twelve or more years of experience in a relevant field which includes support of National Security Space missions
- Proven ability to build and gain consensus amongst multi-disciplinary teams across Integrated Product Teams and Working Groups.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with government customers and key stakeholders under minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability and initiative to work adaptively on multiple tasks in a small, diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record to establish and maintain trusted relationships with government customers and key collaborators under minimal supervision
- Track record of leading integrated multidisciplinary teams across multiple efforts
- Willingness to travel up to 20 percent of the time
- This position requires a current and active Top Secret SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- Advanced degree in a relevant technical subject area
- Prior experience leading deployment of new cross-segment capabilities
- Experience with space system acquisitions
