Please review the job details below.Maxar is looking for an experienced Lead Software Developer to help lead our onsite team. We have some amazingly talented software development teams, and we are looking to establish a strong technical leader to help us bring quality software solutions to our customers. This role is a hybrid position that will be performed primarily from the customer site in Reston, VA and will also allow for limited remote work. Project: Our customer in the intelligence community has tasked us with building a suite of back-end services, front-end applications, and a data layer to support critical intelligence work.We already have a highly skilled team, are fully agile, cloud native, and we have freedom to design and engineer our solutions as best we see fit using the latest tech available. We operate in a fast-paced environment and have a reputation for delivering capability to users quickly and with a high standard of quality.As the Lead Software Developer, your job will be to lead a team of skilled Front-End, Back-End and DevOps Engineers. You will oversee technical direction, work breakdown, and the day-to-day agile process. You should have a strong technical background, experience leading a technical team, and a history of successful deployments in the IC under your belt. Our team's minimum requirements for this position:
  • Must have current/active TS/SCI security clearance and be willing and able to obtain a CI Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience with software development; Master's degree and 6 years of experience with software development; Ph.D. and 3 years of experience with software development; or 12 years of experience with software development without a degree.
  • Proven technical leadership experience.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Willing to work onsite in Northern VA.
If you also had these skills that'd be amazing:
  • Experience with AWS cloud technologies.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or a comparable certification for privileged user access.
  • Experience developing and deploying web services and applications.
  • Experience supporting software in a production environment Familiarity with an object-oriented language, e.g. Python, Java, C.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies, specifically frequent, iterative releases which rely on user feedback to refine features over time.
  • Knowledge of Design Thinking principles.
