Our team has an immediate opportunity for a Spacecraft Propulsion Systems Engineer . Responsibilities (what you will do day to day):
- Spacecraft propulsion subsystem development across the product life cycle, from design and analysis to launch and orbit-raising for on one or more of our high-heritage bus platforms
- Responsibilities include design and analysis, requirement flowdown and verification, task definition and tracking
- Design propulsion systems using chemical propulsion, electric propulsion, and other innovative components to meet requirements for a range of spacecraft and missions
- Perform thruster selection and configuration, propellant/pressurant tank sizing, selection of fluid management systems and create the performance specification
- Work with power, thermal, bus electronics engineers in an integrated product team to ensure subsystem architecture meets operational requirements
- Support subsystem integration into the spacecraft bus
- Perform analysis of the propulsion subsystem, including the optimization of propellant loading, plume analyses, thruster alignments, and on-orbit performance assessment
- Support qualification testing of propulsion systems and components
- or Permanent Resident
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics or related discipline
- 2 or more years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of spacecraft propulsion systems, propellants, and hardware
- Training or experience in disciplines such as systems engineering, project management, propulsion systems, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics
- Master's in Engineering, Physics or related discipline
