Preschool Substitutes Needed (Bend)

Local Montessori school is seeking enthusiastic substitutes to be added to our sub list for immediate, part time, and as needed work during the 2020-2021 school year and beyond. Duties include assisting staff in the supervision and education of children ages 18 months-6 years during class time, lunch, recess, toileting times, and/or rest time. Tasks will also include light cleaning and/or sanitizing with a bleach solution. A wide range of experience and training will be considered. This is a great opportunity for anyone: experienced in childcare, preschool education, or nannying; students currently pursuing a career in the education and child care fields seeking opportunities with young children to further their own education & professional growth; and parents and grandparents who are seeking a bit of supplemental income and who love spending time with young children. Registration on the Oregon Central Background Registry is required. Candidates must have completed or be willing to complete 5-6 hours of online training in Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect; Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety, Prevention is Better than Treatment, and the Oregon Food Handler's certification. Also required is certification in CPR and First Aid training. In addition, qualified substitute candidates must be skilled in and enthusiastic with regard to working with young children and must demonstrate maturity, patience, intelligence, positive role-modeling, and empathy, and be able to work well with other team members.
